Searching out handcrafted jewellery in markets was a favourite pastime for many years, so when I was looking for a second career I decided to study silversmithing in Mexico. It was an incredible experience – my passion was ignited, and I spent all my waking hours in the studio.
After Mexico I was invited to teach at the ArtCenter/South Florida. I taught classes for 6 years, and I loved it. My studio was always bustling with students and customers.
Now I’ve found a lovely home in Clarksburg, Ontario, where I am working to create that bustling studio environment again – that dynamic energy that feeds our creative souls.
When I was young, jewellery was about fashion. Now it's about art and expression. You can see the influences of my different experiences and environments in my work – I draw inspiration from the nature, spirit, and architecture that surround me.
